Dr. Aaron Nardella, BSc, DC

Chiropractor

Dr. Aaron Nardella is the founder and clinic director of Balanced Health and Sports Therapy. After completing a BSc in Human Biology, he graduated with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the University of Western States in 1999. Dr. Aaron subsequently completed over 40 placements/locums across Alberta and Saskatchewan in-order to expand his experience and knowledge base to help more patients before starting BHST.

Dr. Aaron is certified in Acupuncture, Graston Technique, and Active Release Technique (ART), and has completed the International Certification Sports Chiropractic (ICSC). He has been a contractor of the Canadian Sports Institute for over 15 years treating elite and professional athletes . This has allowed him to travel the world with many national teams and has worked at numerous events/games including being one of 18 chiropractors chosen to work for the IOC at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, Brazil. His major priorities include staying current with the latest techniques and therapies in order to constantly stay ahead of a patients current issue that they may present with. He has taken a Functional Neurology Diplomate Program, as well as a Concussion/MTBI Certification Series.

Dr. Aaron has enjoyed working with athletes at the elite and Olympic level as well as age group competitors. This interest stems from his own experiences as an athlete including collegiate-level swimming and international-level rugby. He has volunteered/worked for CUPS/ The Alex organizations that provide health care to Calgary homeless and underprivileged. Dr. Aaron’s caring and conscientious approach has earned him a wide range of faithful patients throughout the decades. 



Dr. Imran Moledina, BSc, DC

Chiropractor

Born and raised in Calgary, Dr. Imran Moledina completed his BSc in Kinesiology at the University of Calgary. Later, he went on to complete his chiropractic education at the University of Western States in Portland, Oregon earning a BSc in Human Biology and his Doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine.

Dr. Imran believes in patient-centered care. Using his extensive knowledge, he is able to design a specific treatment plan for each patient. This treatment plan, along with patient education, enables his patients to move again pain-free. The patient first approach is why he has continued to educate and train himself in a wide range of treatment techniques such as Contemporary Medical Acupuncture, Dry Needling, Active Release Technique, IASTM, Trigger Point Therapy, Class IV Laser Therapy, Cupping, Functional Movement Assessments, Restorative Exercises, and Kinesiotaping. Dr. Imran also spends his time educating small groups or sports teams on injury prevention techniques and lifestyle changes.

If you don’t see Dr. Imran at the clinic, he is spending his spare time with family and friends, playing basketball, lifting weights, travelling, volunteering, and exploring Calgary’s restaurant scene.



Dr. Aaqil Moledina, BSc, DC

Chiropractor

Born and raised in Calgary, Dr. Aaqil Moledina first gained his passion for chiropractic when he had hurt his low back playing basketball during intramurals at the University of Calgary. This led him to Balanced Health and Sports Therapy, where after only one visit, he went from barely being able to walk to playing basketball the next day. This elevated his view on chiropractic medicine, and he went on to complete his education at the University of Western States in Portland, Oregon earning a BSc in Human Biology and his Doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine.

Whether if it’s an athlete trying to get back to their sport, a worker trying to make a living, or a parent trying to be able to play with their kids, Dr. Aaqil believes in helping his patients achieve their goals and be able to live the lives that they want to live. This need to help people, led Dr. Aaqil to learn a variety of treatment techniques such as Medical Acupuncture, Dry Needling, IASTM, Trigger Point Therapy, Class IV Laser Therapy, Cupping, Taping, Functional Movement Assessments, Restorative Exercises, and Soft Tissue Release.

When Dr. Aaqil is not at the clinic treating patients, he is out enjoying life and exploring everything Calgary has to offer with his family and friends including festivals, restaurants, volunteering, playing basketball, and living a healthy lifestyle.



Dr. Aslam Moledina, BKin, BSc, DC

Chiropractor

Dr. Aslam Moledina graduated with a Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of Calgary. He then moved to Portland, Oregon to attend the University of Western states where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and a Doctorate of Chiropractic. During his time in Portland Dr. Moledina treated patients of various demographics, including athletes, students, workaholics, migrant workers, homeless and underprivileged youth.

Dr. Aslam Moledina treats muscle, joint, and nerve related pain. He uses spinal & extraspinal manipulative therapy, traction & distraction therapy, Graston technique/ IASTM, myofascial cupping, myofascial release, neuromobilization, MET, RockTape/taping, functional movements, activity modification, exercise, rehabilitation and many other things in his clinical practice. He also is certified in contemporary medical acupuncture allowing him to provide various needle techniques to aid in patient care. He holds privileges to order diagnostic imaging.

Dr. Moledina’s aim is to help people get back to doing what they love and allow them to reach their treatment goals, whether it is to get out of pain, improve function or better their performance in sport.

As an advocate for continued lifelong learning, Dr. Moledina is always looking for ways to increase his knowledge to provide you with the quality care you deserve!

In his spare time, Dr. Moledina likes to stay active by playing basketball and working out. He also likes to travel to different countries to experience all kinds of traditions and culture.



Jaedon Frantz BScKin, MPT

Physiotherapist

Jaedon graduated with a Master of Physical Therapy from the University of Saskatchewan and holds a Bachelor of Kinesiology from the same institution. 

His treatment focuses on helping his patients improve the way they move and to help support them through recovery. He accomplishes this by providing patients with therapeutic exercises, education and manual therapy. Jaedon has worked 1 on 1 with orthopaedic surgeons focusing on knee surgeries (ACL, MPFL, Total knee replacement) and has a special interest in sporting injuries and injury prevention. His areas of interest are shoulders, hips and knees.

Jaedon was raised in Saskatoon and since a young age has been around competitive sports and activities. He has previously competed in powerlifting and Olympic weightlifting competitions and is currently involved in climbing, running and weight lifting.



Carli Berube BHPE, MScPT

Physiotherapist

Carli is dedicated to helping her patients achieve their personal goals and live their everyday lives to the fullest through individualized therapy plans. She believes in tailoring treatment to each patient’s unique needs, preferences, and objectives. With a deep passion for understanding the human body, Carli strives to educate her patients on the “why” and “how” behind their injuries and treatments, empowering them with the knowledge to take charge of their recovery.

Recognizing that each patient is the true expert on their own body and experiences, Carli integrates personalized exercise prescriptions and manual therapy techniques to address their needs on a day-to-day basis.

Carli brings diverse physiotherapy experience, having worked in various private practice clinics as well as hospital settings, including Emergency and Tertiary Neuro departments. Her background also includes a strong connection to sports and performance; she is a certified Triathlon Coach and a former competitive Triathlete.

Carli earned her Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Literacy from Mount Royal University.



Tania Gómez, RMT

Massage Therapist

Tania graduated from a 2200-hour massage therapy diploma program at Makami College in Calgary, Alberta and is a registered massage therapist with the CRMTA Massage Therapy Association. She specializes in therapeutic massage related to sports injuries, motor-vehicle accidents, postural issues, and overused soft-tissue injuries.

Along with the therapeutic massage, Tania also offers stress-management through relaxation massage. She is passionate about supporting individuals with an integrated approach to relieve both physical and emotional stress. She utilizes a wide range of techniques such as deep tissue, trigger point, cupping, and therapeutic.

In her spare time, she is usually with her two little girls, or out biking. She loves to spend time at her home or with friends.



Shay Foggo, RMT

Massage Therapist

Shay became a certified RMT after completing the 2200 hour program at MaKami College. He is passionate about the healing properties of massage and strongly believes in its positive effects on one’s physical and mental health. With an extensive background in athletics, playing basketball at the college level, he is well versed in injury recovery, maintenance and prevention. In addition to this, he specializes in therapeutic and relaxation massage to relieve stress and pain.

Shay is committed to providing a caring, calming and comfortable experience for each of his patients and aims to have you leaving each session feeling better than when you came in!

As a father of two daughters and a lover of life, Shay is a proud Calgarian who is excited to serve the people of Calgary/Mohkinstsis. Providing them with excellent hands-on solutions, catering to each patient’s needs. In his free time he loves to read, swim, listen to music, bike/rollerblade and relax by the water.



Natasha Matheson, RMT

Massage Therapist

Natasha Matheson spent 6 years backpacking across Canada. Through her experiences found her passion for massage and starting her course at CDI College in 2016, completing 2400hrs, then continued her education through a Rehabilitation Therapist Assistant course in 2018. With this she has broadened her horizon and has been using these opportunities to give the best care possible to her patients.

Natasha has found a progressive rehabilitative aspect in her treatments, starting with lighter, relaxation techniques to help rest and reset the muscles while calming the nervous system, leading into the deeper, more therapeutic aspect of the treatment, working with deep breathing techniques to ease into the more intense portion of the treatment with her patients.



Aga Krynska, RMT

Massage Therapist

Aga is a certified Registered Massage Therapist (RMT), having completed 2200 hours of training at ACMT College.
Aga has also completed additional certifications such as SFH Orthopedic Massage (32 hours), CSMTA Advanced Sport Massage, and NCBTMB Bodywork for Upper Body Mobility (28 hours).

Aga is proficient in a wide range of massage modalities, including Swedish, deep tissue therapeutic, and prenatal massage. Aga’s primary focus is helping clients alleviate pain, reduce stress, and promote overall well-being. Aga is committed to continuous learning and development to ensure I provide the best care possible.

What drives Aga most is the trust their clients place in her, and Aga takes great pride in helping them feel better, both physically and mentally. Aga looks forward to expanding her knowledge and techniques to better serve those whom she has the privilege of working with.



Dr. Robert “Bob” Monroe, Dr. Ac, DTCM

Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncturist

Dr. Robert Monroe is a Registered Acupuncturist and member of the College of Acupuncturists of Alberta. He holds a Doctorate in Traditional Chinese Medicine, along with Graduate Diplomas in both Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Alberta College of Acupuncture & Traditional Medicine.

His practice focuses on chronic health conditions such as Lyme disease and fibromyalgia, as well as mental health concerns including stress and anxiety. Dr. Monroe also provides care for a variety of pain-related conditions, supporting patients in their journey toward improved health and well-being.



Sanam Amiri

Registered Psychologist

Sanam is a humanistic, relational therapist offering compassionate and integrative support for adults and teens navigating recovery after injury, trauma, and life disruption. Sanam’s work also involves supporting individuals following motor vehicle accidents (MVA), helping them manage emotional overwhelm, rebuild safety and trust in their bodies, and reconnect with a sense of stability and self. Sanam is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. Sanam holds a Bachelors of Psychiatric Nursing from MacEwan University and a Masters of Counselling Psychology from Adler University—she is currently completing a PhD in Transpersonal Psychology from Sofia University.

Sanam’s approach integrates talk therapy with evidence-based modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), somatic and nervous system-informed care, and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Together, you will focus on restoring both emotional and physical resilience—addressing the psychological impact of pain, stress, and trauma as part of the healing process. Grounded in a strengths-based and collaborative approach, Sanam aims to create a space where all parts of you feel welcome—where recovery isn’t just about symptom management, but reconnecting with your inherent capacity for healing.



Jana Kurilova

Registered Psychologist

Jana is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. Her credentials include an Honours B.A. degree in Psychology and a M.Sc. degree in Counselling Psychology, both from the University of Calgary. Jana has experience working in community, school, private practice, and clinical settings, and also has an extensive research background. She has been involved in numerous studies of child development and parental mental health, and her graduate and undergraduate thesis research explored relationships between mindfulness and psychological well-being.

Jana has a particular interest in adolescent and young adult mental health, but works with individuals of all ages experiencing various difficulties that may be negatively impacting their well-being and quality of life. These include, but are not limited to, struggles related to depression, anxiety, stress, disordered eating, self-esteem, and life transitions. In her work with clients, Jana is guided by a primarily person-centered perspective and adapts her approach according to each individual’s unique needs.

Jana recognizes the importance of finding a psychologist who is a good fit, since a strong therapeutic relationship is essential to positive therapy outcomes. Therefore, Jana offers a free 20-minute consultation, in person or by phone, to help you determine if working with her would be a good fit and answer any questions you may have. 



Jessica Tsang, Nurse Practitioner

Nurse

Jessica is a Family/All Ages Nurse Practitioner who received her Bachelor of Nursing from University of Calgary and Master of Nursing from Athabasca University. She has worked in ICU, Urgent Care, Community Mental Health, Occupational Health & Safety, Home Care, and Assisted Living.
After becoming a nurse practitioner, she has expanded her scope to a family practice with a focus on pain management. She has received additional training in interventional pain management from University of Calgary, University of Alberta, and the American Academy of Procedural Medicine. She is currently enroute to becoming a board certified Pain Specialist by the American Academy of Procedural Medicine. She is trained to provide joint and soft tissue injections including cortisone injections, platelet rich plasma injections, prolotherapy injections, hyaluronic acid supplementation, and trigger point injections.

In 2017, Jessica founded a mobile medical clinic called Direct Health Solutions. The mission of this company is to provide necessary medical care for vulnerable people who have trouble getting to the traditional clinic. With 30-60 minute-long appointments, it address the needs of those with physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges. In 2018, Jessica was recognized as a Woman of Inspiration for her clinic’s positive impact in the community.

When Jessica is not at the clinic or providing house calls, you may find her teaching nursing students at Mount Royal University, volunteering for a local charity, travelling the world with her husband, or walking her wheaten terrier dog named Fonzie. 



Dr. Charlotte Jane Alabaster

MD and Acupuncturist

Dr. Charlotte Jane Alabaster is originally from Wales. She moved to Canada in 1997 and Calgary has been home since 2004. She is a family physician who graduated in the UK in 1982. Dr. Alabaster has Canadian medical credentials including the LMCC and CFPC. In 2007 she received her CMAP in acupuncture from the U of A, Edmonton.

Her approach to medical conditions is inclusive and holistic. She utilizes all non-drug approaches including acupuncture in treating illnesses before resorting to medications.

Acupuncture is a truly marvelous way of addressing various medical conditions including pregnancy related (morning sickness), induction of labor, breech version, lactation, menstrual irregularities, PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome), menstrual cramps, menopausal symptoms, (sleep disturbance and flashes), irritable bowel syndrome, anxiety, insomnia, migraine, musculoskeletal symptoms from injuries, post-concussion symptoms, osteoarthritis and “long” Covid.

Acupuncture is a way of restoring internal energetic harmony and rebalancing the parasympathetic and sympathetic systems that are often unbalanced due to our demanding life styles.

Dr. Alabaster utilizes two forms of acupuncture, body acupuncture and ear seeds. For children or adults who are afraid of needles acupressure may be used instead.
